Unconventional food plants in teaching, research and extension activities at the Instituto Federal Baiano Campus Serrinha

This article aims to highlight how Unconventional Food Plants – UFPs have constituted themselves as an interdisciplinary educational-investigative element in the courses offered at Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology, Serrinha campus, enabling rescue, re-signification construction knowledge based on tripod teaching-research-extension. To do so, a survey was carried out institutional documents, results public notices, records teaching, research extension coordinations IF Baiano Campus Serrinha, Núcleo de Estudos em Agroecologia NEA Abelmanto, besides productions teachers students registered lattes curriculum. In five years, nine projects been developed, addressing NCP central and/or auxiliary theme. two projects, planned actions were already articulating teaching-research-extension tripod, three framed one teaching projects. Twenty publications technical surveyed, with involvement students, professors from campus external community, resulting UFPs. The unconventional food plants formative integrator/articulator Bahia contributed realization holistic, integrated, dynamic contributory PTE local development processes.
